The 5 products that Apple has in store for us for 2022

Apple should have several new things in store for us next year. Nothing very transcendent expected, despite some eagerly awaited products.

2021 has barely ended that it is already time to look to 2022. For Apple enthusiasts, this is an opportunity to imagine the new products that the firm has in store for us. If there are the traditional products that come out every year, like the iPhone and the Apple Watch, some should nevertheless come to spice up this new year.

A colorful MacBook Air

At the start of 2021, Apple presents us with brand new iMacs featuring the Apple Silicon M1 SoC. Powerful machines and radically different from its predecessors which very quickly managed to please customers. A slew of colors are notably available for the iMac, as in the days of the iMac G3, which undoubtedly contributed to its success.

In summer or fall 2022, the Apple should renew its range of MacBook Air. Unchanged since 2018, except for a slight update to the M1, Apple’s ultra-thin laptop might well see its range modernized this year. According to rumors, it should be available in many colors like the iMac, but also run under the new M2 chip. The gradual thickening of the MacBook Air should finally give way to a flat design.

An iPad Air M1

So far, only one model of iPad works with an Apple Silicon M1 chip: the iPad Pro. The iPad Air, the second high-end model of the headed tablets still carries the same chip as the iPhone, the A14. Released in 2020, the model is starting to get dated and it would make sense for Apple to upgrade it to M1 or M2. Currently, the iPad and iPad mini remain less expensive and just as powerful solutions.

Switching to SoC M1 seems inevitable for a model that is quite expensive. Its release date should revolve around the end of the year, around October or November.

A new iPhone SE

Since 2016, Apple has offered in its iPhone range a model that is much less expensive and powerful than the others, but irremediably more accessible to a wider audience. The iPhone SE is an interesting model for many customers wanting to invest in an iPhone but reluctant to shell out the amounts claimed for the iPhone Pro or Pro Max.

In 2020, a second iPhone SE model was released, carrying an interesting technical sheet but much less powerful than that of the iPhone XR, released the same year. This year, at the same time as the potential iPhone 14, the Cupertino company should renew its iPhone SE model with the third generation. Compatible with 5G, the new iPhone SE should be equipped with an A15 chip and be released in the spring.

The AirPods Pro 2

Released in 2019, the AirPods Pro are slightly starting to date. While they stay up to date in many areas, Apple’s high-end in-ear headphones should indeed be renewed this year. On this point, few rumors have leaked. However, the battery should be more powerful, the active noise reduction better and the design more compact and practical. Their release might already take place from the first half of the year.

An Apple Watch for athletes

Each year, with the release of a new Apple Watch, Apple offers a “Nike” edition, with a bracelet and dial exclusive to the sports brand. However, the watch itself is no different from other models, without any exclusive features dedicated more to sport.

This year might be a game-changer, finally with an Apple Watch Sport model. Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman said this model is more impact resistant and might be submerged in water for longer. However, we would have to wait until September to see it land.
