Since yesterday and until Sunday, Cauterets is hosting the 9th edition of the Pyrenean Nature Image Festival. On the menu: exhibitions, films, conferences, etc. to raise awareness of respect for biodiversity and the environment.
The festival, organized since 2015, has become the unmissable event for nature and photography enthusiasts. Environmental experts rub shoulders with naturalist artists for a fruitful exchange. Among the exhibitors this year, we find names like Stéphanie and David Allemand, Joël Brunet, or even Christine and Michel Denis-Huot, who will take us on a journey through themes as varied as the fauna of the Pyrenees, the Abyssinian wolf, or the pink flamingos. Beyond the traditional exhibitions – twelve will be presented – and film screenings – ten will be shown – the event also stands out for its “Nature hikes” in collaboration with the Pyrenees National Park and the Association Mycological of Bigorre. These walks will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in natural spaces while being guided by experts. The Festival also includes photo workshops in a natural environment, a nature space, editors, artists, artisans inspired by nature. nature, signing meetings with the authors, a photo aperitif with the photographers and directors.
“Climate deregulation”
For those looking for more than just a visual spectacle, a series of enriching conferences is also on the program. “Climate disruption wins while the cruise has fun”, will be the theme of a particularly anticipated round table. Denis Cheissoux, host of the show CO² mon amour on France Inter, will host this discussion in the presence of climate and life specialists. The festival does not forget the youngest with a day specially dedicated to schools. This will be a golden opportunity to educate them on the importance of preserving our environment. With around 6,000 festival-goers expected, the Pyrenees Nature Image Festival promises to be a great success once more this year. This festival is the result of a successful collaboration between Pyrénées Magazine, the French Biodiversity Office and the Park national of the Pyrenees, with the unwavering support of the commune of Cauterets. Through these three days of activities, it not only offers a platform for environmental education but also serves as a showcase for the talents of the Great South West in the field of photography and nature film. In short, the 9th edition of the Pyrenean Nature Image Festival promises to be a must for all those who wish to discover or rediscover the richness of biodiversity while enjoying the Pyrenean conviviality. A beautiful way to combine art, science and environmental awareness in an exceptional setting.
