The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Aušrinė Armonaitė, says that strong consortia will implement projects significant to society – three competence centers will be established, more than 20 scientific research and experimental development projects will be implemented, regarding 30 unique products will be created and 22 new innovative companies will be founded.

In July, consortia formed by Vilnius University (VU), Vilnius Gediminas University of Technology (“Vilnius Tech”) and Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) were selected as implementation partners of the mission-based science and innovation programs initiated by the Ministries of Economy and Innovation and Education, Science and Sports.
They consist of various companies, business associations and other partners, the Innovation Agency signed cooperation agreements with them in December.
The consortium represented by VU plans to establish a translational gene technology center, the estimated value of the project is 32.9 million. euros.
The consortium focused on “Vilnius Tech” will develop technologies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, create sustainable solutions in the construction sector, improve wastewater treatment processes and solve other environmental problems – 31.5 million euros are planned to be allocated for this. euros.
The consortium represented by KTU will implement a project related to digital defense and increasing public safety and resilience, with a budget of 24.07 million. euros.
Most of the amount is 88.46 million. EUR – will be financed from the funds of the European Economic Recovery and Resilience Building Plan and the Lithuanian budget.
