Elisabeth Bideau, nicknamed “Gigi”: “I’m not one to twiddle my thumbs.”

In Europe, there are few bodies of water that have not seen her tug hard. Aged 90, Elisabeth Bideau, nicknamed “Gigi”, still rows more than 1,500 kilometers a year on Lake Geneva. “I inherited good health potential,” confirms the nonagenarian, member of La Rame de La Tour-de-Peilz, the only exclusively female rowing club in Switzerland, along with that of Zurich. The “family” atmosphere is wonderful there, it seems. The proof? The former president, Antoinette Pasche, has been a member for seventy-two years.
