The two persons who died in the incident have been identified as Usman and Ashfaq, while no information is available regarding the identity of the other 7 persons who were killed.
According to the report, 5 people killed in Iran belong to different areas of Alipur and according to the relatives, the martyred Pakistanis used to work as laborers in Iran.
Pakistan Ambassador to Iran Mudassar Tipu confirmed the incident on social media website X and expressed deep sorrow and regret over the incident.
He said that there is deep shock over the horrific killing of 9 Pakistanis in Sarawan, the Pakistani embassy will provide full support to the bereaved families and the Pakistani consular went to the site of the incident and to the hospital to meet the injured.
He demanded Iran to cooperate in the investigation into the killing of Pakistanis.
