The Health Superintendency reported that all Isapres open to the public made the decision to adapt the increase to the base prices of their health plans.
The private health system in Chile has 10 Isapres. However, not all of them are open.
The “public” ones are Banmédica, Colmena, Consalud, Cruz Blanca, Nueva Masvida, Esencial and Vida Tres. According to what the organization reports, all of them will adjust the values of their plans.
Meanwhile, Cruz del Norte, Isalud and Fundación are the only “closed” pension institutions. Of them, the regulatory entity indicated that only the first did not communicate a determination in this regard, given that “it does not have a table of factors” and that, therefore, “it is not up to it to apply this increase.”
“The teams of this Superintendency are already working on verifying these increases, to inform citizens, within the next few days, of the percentage increase that each Isapre will be able to adapt to their health plan,” they stated on their social networks. .
Maximum increase
Last Tuesday, the Superintendency announced that the maximum percentage that Pension Health Institutions had to consider when deciding the adjustment of base prices would be 7.4%, a limit almost three times higher than last year (2.6 %).
“Now, Parliament itself asks us to take some measure to prevent this decrease in income from affecting the continuity of people’s care,” said the authority. “Here I want to be very emphatic that this process has always been transparent,” the head of the superintendency in question, Víctor Torres, responded to the questions in statements to CNN Chile.
