The ticket is also called “9 for 90”: 9 euros for 90 days. In Germany, the nine-euro ticket is valid for three months from today, Wednesday, on local public transport.
At the same time, the tank discount comes into effect. Both measures are intended to relieve citizens of the high energy costs resulting from the Ukraine war.
With the nine-euro ticket, passengers can use local trams, underground trains, S-Bahn trains and ferries from June to August for nine euros a month, and regional trains can use S-Bahn trains, regional trains and regional express trains – throughout Germany.

The fuel rebate is a tax reduction on fuel. The tax rates for petrol will drop by 29.55 cents per liter and for diesel by 14.04 cents.
However, the government and petrol station operators have warned that in some places the relief may not reach motorists immediately because the petrol stations first have to sell the fuel purchased at the higher tax rate. (SDA/kes)
