As soon as the new operating systems were announced by Apple last year, we knew that several controls would gain Official support for Apple devicesincluding those from the manufacturer 8BitDopopular for its retro versions of joysticks, but with newer technology.
Now, the company has finally announced the official release for six of its controls, which will receive a firmware update and will work normally on iPhones, iPads, Macs or Apple TVs.
8BitDo’s controls became famous mainly for their designs, which resemble or resemble console models such as Super Nintendo or Mega Drive. However, the popularity was maintained due to the quality of the products, which have a great finish. Thus, the company has grown and now offers several types of wired or wireless controllers, including some for Xbox and even for Switch.
A long time ago, with a certain “workaround”, it was possible to use some of the manufacturer’s controls on the Mac and — as I used many times — in emulators on the iPhone. However, it was not possible to use them with games available on the App Store or Apple Arcade, as there was no official support.
Now, however, this will be possible with the following models:
- Ultimate Controller 2.4g
- Pro 2
- SN30 Pro +
- Pro
- SN30 Pro para Android
- Lite SE
The company also stated that all other models launched from now on will also receive this novelty, to our delight. It is worth remembering that your devices must be properly updated for the following systems: iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS 13.2 and tvOS 16.3.
