It is a performance beyond expectations. In 2022, the Togolese Revenue Office (OTR) succeeded in mobilizing a total of 865.3 billion CFA francs, i.e. a rate of 106% compared to the 814 billion expected by the government.

The figures were published on Tuesday 04 April on the occasion of the first orientation seminar of the Office for the year 2023 under the chairmanship of the Commissioner General of the OTR, Philippe Kokou Tchodie.

Placed under the theme “Collaboration between teams for better collection of tax and customs revenue”, this seminar was attended by commissioners, directors, heads of divisions, heads of sections and heads of offices of the OTR. .

The exchanges focused in particular on the budgetary mobilization in 2022 of tax and customs revenues carried by the tax divisions and customs units, the dematerialization of procedures, communication and awareness-raising actions.

“We managed to mobilize 865 billion FCFA. This is approximately 106% of the rate of revenue mobilization for the year 2022, this, despite the difficult economic and security context”, indicated the Commissioner General of the OTR.

“The continuous process of reforms, carried out as part of the digitization of procedures and dematerialization, has enabled the OTR to obtain convincing results. Also, there has been an improvement in revenue mobilization,” he added.

He specified that the budgetary tax revenues collected by the OTR for the financing of national needs have indeed almost doubled from 403.6 billion in 2013 to 865.3 billion in 2022.

For 2023, the Togolese Revenue Office plans to mobilize 912 billion CFA francs in revenue. The ambition remains a mobilization of 1000 billion per year by 2025.
