Who will be the final winner of the English Premier League (EPL) competition for the 2021-22 season?
The fate of both teams is expected to be decided by the results of the match between Manchester City and Liverpool on the 10th (local time).
As of the 8th, both teams have 8 games remaining. Manchester City are in first place, just one point ahead, and Liverpool are in second place. The difference between the two teams and third place is so large that it is almost certain that one of them will win the trophy.
Since Manchester City won the 2017-18 season 25 points ahead of fourth-placed Liverpool, the gap between the two teams has narrowed significantly, and fierce competition has been held every season. Over the next three seasons, Manchester City took the top spot twice and Liverpool took the top spot once.
According to data specialist Nielsen Gracenote, as of today, Manchester City have a 61% chance of winning, ahead of Liverpool with 39%.
Sunday’s game will be played at Manchester City’s home, which is particularly strong at home.
Depending on the outcome of the match, the chances of both teams winning will fluctuate.
If Manchester City win, their chances of winning soar to 86%. Liverpool, on the other hand, will decrease to 14%.
In the end of the draw, Manchester City had only a slight change with 63% and Liverpool 37%.
But if the away team wins, it’s a different story. Liverpool’s chances of winning jump to 68%, while Manchester City slumps to 32%.
Let’s see who will laugh at the match that will de facto determine the winner of the season.
