At the request of the Hong Kong and Australian governments Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Alleged fakes issued in the name of Transport Department Licenses The investigation has been completed and according to the director of the transport department, a report will be submitted to the transport secretary this week.

Hong Kong’s anti-corruption department had sent an email to Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in January this year, claiming that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department had issued fake driving licenses.

Transport Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is authorized to issue International Driving License and only citizens with valid foreign visa on Pakistani passport can get International Driving License from Transport Department.

According to an email sent by Hong Kong’s anti-corruption department (a copy of which is with Independent Urdu), some officials of the Pakistani consulate allegedly used middlemen to drive Pakistanis in Hong Kong. License Verification Certificate has been issued.

According to the e-mail, the licenses were found to be fake during Hong Kong’s investigation, after which they demanded from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department to give them access to relevant officials for investigation.

According to a mail sent by Hong Kong to the NAB: ‘Making fake licenses is against Hong Kong’s Prevention of Bribery Act and 89 Pakistanis submitted fake licenses to the Hong Kong Transport Department, which is the Transport Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. were issued from.’

Following requests from NAB, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hong Kong government, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department formed a committee to investigate the matter, which has completed its investigation.

Ahmed Kamal, director of the transport department, told Independent Urdu that the investigation report of the matter will be submitted to the transport secretary this week, including the committee’s findings and suggestions in the report.

Ahmed Kamal told Independent Urdu that this issue of licenses in Hong Kong is four months old and we have also held talks with the Hong Kong administration in this regard. “Of the 89 licenses collected by Hong Kong, only five have been issued by the Transport Department, while the rest are not recorded in our system.”

A number of such alleged fake licenses have also been revealed in Australia.

According to a letter sent by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in May this year (a copy of which is available with Independent Urdu), several Pakistanis in Australia have submitted applications for verification of their driving licenses, however, during verification. Similar problems have come up in them too.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are many applicants who do not belong to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but were issued licenses by the Transport Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Similarly, there are several licenses, which cannot be verified on the online verification portal of the Transport Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and there is no record of them.

According to the letter, in some cases the data of two persons on one license number is available on the online portal while some licenses have been issued to persons below 18 years of age. Licenses were also issued in which the applicant was not present in Pakistan at the time of issuance and the license was issued in his name.

It should be noted that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa International Driving License is issued only by the Transport Department, so this issue has nothing to do with the licenses issued by the Traffic Police.

However, for the issuance of International License by the Department of Transport, it is necessary to have a driving license along with a valid visa and passport.
