81-year-old hunter injures mother and two children while hunting hare: ‘I made no mistake’

A woman was walking through the vineyards in Pommiers this Sunday with her two children when they were hit in the legs by stray bullets following gunfire. However, their vital prognosis is not engaged.

Jeannot, an 81-year-old man, fired the shots that injured the three individuals, was taken into custody. He confided in the incidents to France 3: “I was on the road then I was in the vineyard, since I might not stay on the road. I was waiting for a hare to arrive. (… ) I fired. I didn’t fire on the road, there is no problem. But I fired and it ricocheted,” he said.

Also questioned by BFM TV, Jeannot confesses that he was bothered by the sun. “I didn’t make a mistake, no. I was dazzled by the sun. If there had been no sun, it was no problem,” he remarks.

What’s more, Jeannot knows the three people injured by his shots. “It’s not funny, because I know them well,” he says once more.
