8,000 flowers and 21 participants compete for a floral competition at the Château de Beloeil: here is the result (video)

After two cancellations due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, a flower competition takes place at the Château de Beloeil. 8,000 flowers make up original creations in this exceptional place.

Since Wednesday, participants have work long hours to design their works. Very large assemblies, such as the one made by theIFAPME of Mons. “She’s huge, she furniture the room. It’s nice. Mais it’s also a lot of work, the branches to arrange, the bull’s eye in the center… it’s magnificent”explains a visitor.

Pierre as for him, discovers the work of the school of Phranne. “It’s impressive and very bright. It’s really beautiful”he comments, admiringly.

Visitors stroll through the castle of Beloeil. Some feel inspired. Two visitors are wondering, for example, how to redo and adapt certain creations in their own house. “It might go on a table or a mantel… But I wonder how plants can open without water” one of them asks.

The event had not taken place for two years, because of the health crisis.

“Containment, it was not terrible for the little ones. They can’t see anything new, it is always the same things…” explains this father who came with his children to see the exhibits, “we been happy to be able to come here to show him new things”.

The exterior of the castle is him too decorated. A body of water is adorned with a montage made up of 1500 amaryllis. “Around all this creativity there is a lot of work” explains Evelyne, who comes every year. “The technique and the creativity, it’s simply magnificent” she adds with a smile on the lips.

Au total, 21 participants took part in the competition. Among them, eighteen young hopefuls arrived with their tips for keeping the flowers beautiful.

“It’s the participants who show a really incredible technique and a lot of imagination”, explains Henri De Ligne, administrator of the castle who reveals to us some small secrets. “They put water inside the rodet plug the end. And so the flower retains water for ten days.” The event will thus take place until the first of May.
