Xiaomi has updated the list of devices that will receive the update. We therefore go from a small group of 8 lucky people to 88 machines. The deployment will take place over the first half of 2024.
Xiaomi announced with great fanfare in October 2023 to abandon its interface, MIUI, to move to HyperOS. Initially, only 8 devices, seven smartphones and one tablet were announced as compatible. But since then, the brand has greatly expanded the circle, in particular towards the Redmi brand, a very popular sub-brand focused on inexpensive and well-equipped smartphones.
Deployment teaches us Gizmochina who got their hands on the list, should begin in January 2024 and last until June. If you have one of the devices on this list, you will need to be a little patient.

What to expect from HyperOS?
From what we’ve seen, the new interface still looks a lot like its predecessor and it seems that it’s more of a name change to refresh the image than anything else. MIUI was, following all, around for almost 13 years.
But the brand claims that the most important changes are under the hood. If we still find the Android operating system at work, it is coupled with a system called Vela developed by Xiaomi since 2017, says the company’s CEO, Lei Jun on Weibo (via Android Authority).
HyperOS has only one goal, prepares the future of home automation. Xiaomi has thus “Completely rewrites the underlying architecture and prepares a public foundation for the Internet of Things for tens of billions of devices and tens of billions of connections in the future. » The Internet of Things was also one of MIUI’s great strengths with the possibility of creating a fairly advanced control center.
