A series of ACCIDENTS involving eight vehicles occurred on the Bandung-Subang Arterial Road, Subang, West Java, Thursday (17/10). As a result, two people died.

The accident is thought to have been caused by a Cipali-Patimban Toll Road project truck carrying stones that experienced a brake failure while passing on a downhill road. Apart from causing two fatalities, there were eight injured victims.

The series of accidents started when the dump truck driven by Ahmad was driving from Bandung to Subang.

When arriving at the downhill road, the dump truck with license plate number B 9785 FYW with a full load of stone material for the Cipali-Patimban Toll Road project allegedly experienced a brake failure.

The speed of the car went out of control and hit a motorbike, another dump truck, four minibuses, a pedicab and residents who were at the shop.

As a result of this incident, a pedicab driver who was hanging around named Roni Gunawan and a resident named Rivan Mulya Setiwan who was at the stall died at the location. Apart from that, 3 people were seriously injured and 5 people were slightly injured.

“Secure accidents involving eight vehicles occurred Thursday morning, starting with a truck accident, and as a result of this incident 2 people died and 8 others were injured,” said Head of Subang Police Traffic Unit, AK Sudirianto.

The vehicles involved in the accident have been evacuated from the accident scene. Meanwhile, the deceased and injured victims were taken to Subang Regional Hospital. This case is still being handled by the Subang Police Traffic Accident Unit. (RZ/J-3)
