On Wednesday it was a big party
in the French capital Paris.
It was the inauguration
of the Paralympics.
It’s the Olympics for people
with disabilities.

French leader Emmanuel Macron
was at the party with
Paralympics leader Andrew Parsons.

Athletes from all over the world
attended the opening.
They had their countries’ flags with them.
Among other things, they went down for
the famous street Champs-Élysées.

Louise Etzner Jakobsson
carried the flag for Sweden.
She will compete with her horse
in dressage in the Paralympics.

At the end of the party lit
OS fire and was sent up into the air
with a hot air balloon.

This year’s Paralympics seem to be
popularly. Over 2.5 million tickets
have been sold to the competitions.
