“A turning point: transformative solutions to interconnected challenges” is the central theme of this 77th General Assembly, which began on September 13 and will not end until September 27. A highlight of this event, the kick-off of the high-level debate will be given on Tuesday 20 September and will be marked by the participation of Heads of State and Government as well as several other officials.
Many issues are on the agenda of this session, including the food and energy crises, in addition to the climate emergency and the efforts to give new impetus to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
On the sidelines of this session of the General Assembly, a high-level Summit on the transformation of education is being held, at the initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. In parallel, a meeting of leaders is being held on Monday to discuss solutions and means likely to transform education systems in order to preserve the future of thousands of children around the world.
