To mark its 77th anniversary, the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit” will also be published on weekends for the first time. As a supplement to the regular edition of this Thursday (June 1st), “Die Zeit” and “Zeit-Magazin” will be published next Saturday (June 3rd) with 77 selected texts from 77 years. The publishing group announced this on Thursday in Hamburg.
All historical contributions appear on “Zeit online” as early as June 2 at around 5:00 p.m www.zeit.de/77″. In addition, a special episode of the “Zeit online” podcast “What now?” published, for which editors read passages of the 77 texts. From Willy Brandt to the cinema hit “ET” to Steffi Graf: “Through 77 original articles, the anniversary project in print and online recalls significant events and important debates, but also the mood of the respective time,” says the statement. “For each decade there are ten texts of all journalistic genres, from editorials to glosses to reports. The founding years of the 1940s and the present of the 2020s are combined in a single book. The design and photography of the special edition also immerse themselves in the world of events and attitude to life of the respective epoch .”
