Ms. Peng’s 73-year-old son, Mr. Ruan, issued a notice following his mother went missing on the mountain to dig bamboo shoots in La Nguyen, Fuzhou City.
He said his family comes from Gutian town, Shanghang district, Fujian. On the morning of April 10, his mother and neighbors counted Huokou town, La Nguyen district to dig bamboo shoots. After going up the mountain, Ms. Peng and her companions were separated and then lost contact with each other.
That followingnoon, upon receiving the news, Mr. Ruan’s family immediately went to the scene and began searching the mountain. After hours of fruitless searching, they asked the local police for help. In the following days, dozens of family members, police and civil rescue teams searched for the 73-year-old woman.

At around 2 p.m. on April 15, a family friend reported finding Ms. Peng near an abandoned mushroom warehouse.
“When I found my mother, her health was still good although she was a bit weak and had some skin wounds. During the few days she was in the mountain, she lived entirely on drinking spring water without eating anything. My mother got lost on the mountain and fell.” Mr. Ruan shared.

Immediately following the information that Ms. Peng was found was posted on social networks by her family, many people sent congratulations to the family, surprised by this miracle.

The Huokou town government confirmed to reporters that Ms. Peng from Gutian, following getting lost on the mountain to dig bamboo shoots, was found on April 15 in stable health.
