The association which manages the Émile-Martin home, in Pertuis, was created in 1943 by three town hall employees to support people returning from the war by helping with housing, food and clothing. For this, a pot, as they said at the time, was set up to fund the association, finally put to sleep in 1945. The pot was a real success and a lot of money arrived in the account, well at -beyond expectations. So much so that the municipality at the time was able to buy a summer camp in Isère, welcoming 150 to 200 children each year. Then this colony, which had become too dilapidated, was closed in 1970.
