On January 13, 2017 in Tokyo, Japan, Nintendo finally unveiled its new Switch console in detail. A very tight and clearly unusual timing since the console will be launched commercially a little less than 2 months later. Well, it is true that a first glimpse of the console was teased in October 2016 but the console still remained quite mysterious, apart from its hybrid side. But from January 14, 2017, a treehouse revealed the launch line-up, with a certain Breath of the Wild. Krysta Yang, who formed the duo Kit & Krista for Nintendo of America at the time, tweeted a little emotional memory of this great moment.

Geoff Keighley, host of Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards, shared a tweet today discussing the streamed event, which outlined technical details, pricing and launch date for the hybrid console.

We invite you to rediscover with nostalgia this great moment, curiously absent on the official YouTube channel. The Nintenfan channel at least allows us to keep the memory of it.

Nintendo Switch Live Presentation in Japan – January 13th, 201714/01/2024

Will Nintendo do the same with the new console? Everything suggests this because the company does everything it can to retain information as much as possible. We already know that we will not have any news before March 31, 2024, the end date of the current fiscal year. We do not believe in a presentation on April 1st but by respecting a window of 2 months between an announcement and the marketing of the console, this would lead us towards a release during June 2024 at least.

While we will receive Another Code: recollection, Mario VS Donkey Kong and Princess Peach: Showtime! regularly spread over the next two months, there is still a Paper Mario: The Millennium Door on Switch still without date, a Rift of Necrodancer from Brace Yourself Games planned for the 1st quarter, a Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD for summer 2024 , an upcoming Fantasy Life i, and a very promising Unicorn Overlord. We can therefore say that the Switch will be supplied with catchy titles for a good half of the year. This is somewhat the reason why the latest rumors now place the release of the new console around September. Honestly, we wouldn’t really be surprised by a live release at the end of August/very beginning of September, with rapid marketing of the new console from the beginning of October 2024. To be continued!
