With his wanderlust, a seven-year-old Postbus fan in the Lower Valais triggered a search for missing persons. The boy had left his childminder undetected. He was eventually found safe and sound on a bus.
The childminder had reported the seven-year-old missing early Monday evening, as the Valais cantonal police announced on Wednesday. Because the information was available that the child had a passion for postbuses, the police officers first looked for him at Sion train station. They found his bike, but there was no trace of the boy.
Since the missing persons report had been spread among the postal workers, a chauffeur informed the operations center that the child was on the bus on the route between Sitten VS and Crans-Montana VS. The Crans-Montana municipal police received the boy safely upon arrival. The cantonal police then drove him home – in the company car. (SDA/oco)
