The UAZ company, judging by the incoming news, is ready to cooperate with any foreign manufacturers. Partnership with them is vital for a domestic enterprise, since it is not able to update its own model range by its own efforts. Perhaps the most pressing issue is the modernization of the Loaf, since this car has been produced in its current form for several decades. Suzuki can help update this model.
The Japanese company has already confirmed that it is not going to leave the Russian market. In addition, she is active in India, where her models are presented under the Maruti brand. It is the latter circumstance that will allow the Japanese brand not only to maintain its presence in the Russian market, but also to strengthen it. Thanks to Maruti, the company will be able to organize localized production in our country. But in order to avoid secondary sanctions, it will not produce cars under its own brand.
As a result, cooperation between Japanese and Russian companies may lead to the emergence of a new UAZ-450 2023-2024, which will be created on the basis of the Ertiga minivan. Renders of this model have already been created by a domestic designer. The new “Loaf” will be an incomplete copy of the Indian-Japanese model. That is, the Russian minivan will receive a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a return of 102 hp. At the same time, the Loaf will probably be remade. In particular, its length will be increased compared to the prototype, as Ertiga is too compact. All-wheel drive will be prepared for the Russian model, which can be borrowed from the Vitara crossover, also presented on the Russian market.
The timing of the release of the new UAZ-450 2023-2024 is still unknown. But it will probably cost less than two million rubles.
