On February 25, the Administrative Department of Traffic and Transportation (DATT) issued Decree 0279 of 2022, which established new measures for the circulation of motorcycles in Cartagena. The measures were in the educational stage until March 6, so as of today, those who fail to comply with these rules will run the risk of being sanctioned.

1. Spike and plate

2. Restriction in the Historic Center
The entry and circulation of motorcycles in the Centro, Getsemaní, San Diego and La Matuna neighborhoods is prohibited.
Passing through Luis Carlos López Avenue is only allowed until Concolón Avenue, where motorcycles must turn onto 30th Street.
3. Friday without a motorcycle
The second and last Friday of each month will be a motorcycle-free day in Cartagena. Only motorcycles driven by their owner and without a grill may circulate.
4. Traffic on Pedro de Heredia avenue
Motorcycles must circulate without a grill on Pedro de Heredia Avenue in the section between the El Amparo pump and the monument to India Catalina.
Only those who have registered their companion on the DATT website will be able to circulate with a barbecue, however circulation is only allowed from 7 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm
Despite this restriction, transverse crossings will be allowed in Torices, Pie de La Popa, Bazurto roundregarding and Cuatro Vientos.
5. Registration of companions
Up to five companions can be registered on the website www.transitocartagena.gov.co. The list of authorized companions must contain the full name and identification document of those registered.
Under no circumstances will children under 12 years of age or pregnant women be allowed.
This list may be updated only once every 60 calendar days, counted from the date of registration.
6. Night restriction
The circulation of motorcycles is prohibited between 11 pm and 5 am the following day.
7. Sanctions
Failure to comply with the peak and license plate restriction, the night restriction, the restriction in the Historic Center, on Friday without a motorcycle or transporting children under 12 years of age or pregnant women has a fine of 15 current legal daily minimum wages, in addition to the immobilization of the vehicle.
On the other hand, violating the restriction of a companion on Pedro de Heredia avenue has a fine of 30 current legal daily minimum wages, in addition to the immobilization of the vehicle: 5 days the first time, 20 days the second time, and 40 days the second. time.
