According to a new study, 69% of French women have sex while on their period.
The sex are often at dead time during menstruation. However, having sex during their period does not pose a problem for the majority of French women. Indeed, a new study conducted by OnePoll for INIMINA has just pointed out that 7 out of 10 women questioned in France had it during this period. The subject is still taboo for many couples. The women interviewed mention in particular the need to create a healthy and safe environment for these reports during menstruation.
Sex during menstruation
In detail, the survey was conducted among 2,000 adult and sexually active French women. 69% of them said they were likely to have sex during their period. 88% of those surveyed stress that “there is no shame” in doing it during menstruation. We also learn that 66% of women questioned know of the existence of a menstrual cup that can be worn during sexual intercourse.
Benefits have also been reported for having sex during menstruation: 62% mention stronger orgasms, which can in particular act as a natural analgesic on menstrual cramps for 69% of women; 61 M underline a reduction in the duration of the menstrual cycle; and 40% say it increased libido, a phenomenon caused by growing estrogen and low progesterone levels.
To have sex during menstruation, 77% of women reported that the creation of a healthy and safe environment was necessary. This environment was notably defined for 77% of them by the fact of having sexual intercourse in the shower or in the bath; 71% mentioned sticking to one position; and 74% the use of condoms.
