A 7-month-old infant who was confirmed with COVID-19 died while being transported to the hospital. He and his parents were diagnosed with the disease and while receiving treatment at home, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene due to seizure symptoms, but it is said that he suffered a cardiac arrest during transport.
According to the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 20th, a 119 report was received from the parents of District A, Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, at around 8:33 pm on the 18th, saying, “The child has a high fever and shows the whites of his eyes and starts a game.”
The fire department arrived at the scene within 6 minutes of reporting and contacted regarding 10 nearby hospitals, but might not secure a bed in the Suwon area. After hearing the news that there was a bed at a university hospital in Ansan, regarding 10 km away, he moved to the hospital, and arrived at around 9:17 pm, but was diagnosed with DOA (death on arrival).
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters said, “Corona 19 confirmed patients will be transferred following confirming that they can be received at the hospital.”
Police are investigating the exact cause of death of group A targeting medical staff.
