7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria, more than 600 people died

Turkey and Syria were rocked by a strong earthquake, a 7.9-magnitude earthquake caused several buildings to collapse, killing more than 600 people. According to the US Geological Survey, the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.9.

According to foreign media, 284 people died in Turkey and more than 300 in Syria due to the earthquake. Officials have expressed fear of increasing the number of people killed in the earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.9 on the record scale and a depth of 17.9. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Nardavi in ​​the southeastern province of Gaziantep, Turkey.

Strong tremors were also felt in Jordan, Syria, Cyprus and Greece. Many buildings in other countries including Turkey and Syria were turned into piles of rubble due to the earthquake. Hundreds of people are reported to be buried under the debris.
