68th Song Contest: Around 1 million ORF viewers watched the finale

The Swiss act Nemo won the final with the bombast number “The Code” in Malmö, Sweden. Austria’s candidate Kaleen ended in second to last place. This corresponded to a market share of 48 percent.

Kaleen’s performance with her song “We Will Rave” was watched by 1.111 million people (52 percent market share), as the ORF announced on Sunday. The voting by the expert jury and the audience was also a crowd puller: the awarding of points, in which Austria was ranked 24th, was watched by an average of 972,000 viewers. The voting achieved a market share of 57 percent in the target group aged 12 and over.

According to the ORF, particularly good market shares were achieved among young audiences. Throughout the evening, the live broadcast achieved a peak of 81 percent market share in the target group of 12 to 29 year olds.
