67% of Moroccans support the opening of borders with Algeria

The report says that despite the long strained relations between the two neighbors, Moroccans are not in favor of the current situation marked, in particular, by the closing of the borders between the two countries.

Moreover, a large majority of Moroccans questioned (67%) say they are in favor of opening the land border closed for 29 years between Morocco and Algeria, reveals the survey which adds that 68% of them support the opening of air borders between the two neighbours.

In addition, residents of the northern region of the Kingdom, aged 30 or over, are more likely to support the opening of land and air borders with Algeria, Arab Barometer points out.

Another important finding underlined by the Barometer, the inhabitants of the region bordering Algeria who “might feel the impact of the opening of the land borders”, are much more likely to support the reopening of the borders between the two countries.

This is how a clear majority, i.e. 90% of the citizens of the Oriental support the opening of the land borders between Morocco and Algeria, while 94% of them are for the opening of the air borders. closed by Algeria since 2021.
