$655 for beverages and 12 oysters

An American couple on a trip to Greece had hundreds of dollars extorted for a meal of 12 oysters and four beverages.

A few days earlier, a Canadian couple had suffered the same bad trick by a restaurant on the famous island of Mykonos.

Travelers started to realize something was wrong when they asked for the drink menu and their server decided to name the cocktails “available” instead.

As a courtesy, the couple ordered a dozen oysters, two beers and two martinis from the DK Oyster bar.

“We were in Mykonos, we knew that the price would have been exorbitant, we thought maybe 250 euros maximum, but especially not 500 euros”, says Theodora McCormick.

When the couple began arguing with the waiter over the price of the bill, they quickly got surrounded by other large members of the restaurant who kept them from leaving until they had agreed to pay the bill.

Back at their hotel, they saw several negative reviews on various websites for travelers not recommending this location, but the damage was already done.
