The driver, a 43-year-old man from the St. Pölten district, wanted to turn the camper van in the Steinhäusl district and drove backwards into a house and business driveway. He may have overlooked the 64-year-old, who was busy doing gardening work, the police reported.
The physically and mentally impaired man was run over by the rear tires. Despite immediate emergency calls and emergency medical treatment, he succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.
