6,000 people run the marathon in Chiayi to drive the city's economy | Road running

The 7th “ZEPRO RUN National Half Marathon” was held in front of the 228 National Memorial Park in Chiayi City early this morning. Chiayi Mayor Huang Minhui, legislator Wang Meihui and several congressmen and guests fired guns and started to cheer for 6,000 runners. Mayor Huang Minhui said that sports events drive the sports industry and the city’s economy, making the city healthier and more vibrant.

Yu Junfang, general manager of Quantong Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., the organizer, said that the road running event has entered its 7th year, and it has been suspended for two years due to the epidemic. Today, there are 6,000 runners from home and abroad, and the nearby restaurants are almost full. It is hoped that through sports and leisure activities, Bringing the crowd to the city can activate the urban economy in addition to sports and health.

The race is divided into the 21km half-marathon group, the 10km road race group, and the 5km healthy group. The race starts from Dafu Road 228 National Memorial Park and returns via Chiayi Airport Wall Road and High-Speed Railway Avenue. The organizer carefully plans the route And layout of the track, with medical and traffic control, to provide runners with a safe and enjoyable road running environment. Some runners bring their families and family members on holidays, push baby strollers, and bring their pets to enjoy the road running together.

Many runners from other counties and cities have already checked into nearby hotels early. The Chiayi City Government advises runners who have finished the race not to leave in a hurry. They can explore Chiayi City through the three coordinates of forestry, cultural creation, and food. The Alishan Railway is a rare forestry railway asset in the world. It surrounds Chiayi City’s Huiyi Senhuo Village, Beimen Railway Station, and the Forest Railway Garage Park. It is a good place for railway fans; Chiayi Water Spray Ring, Art Museum, Cultural and Creative Park, etc. ; There are also Chiayi delicacies that cannot be missed, such as chicken rice, fish head casserole, cold noodles, grapefruit green and so on.

The road running event launched Chiayi-limited commemorative running clothes and vests, jogging shorts, cool sleeves and scarves, as well as cooler bags, lightweight jackets, jogging hydration backpacks, commemorative medals, etc. To celebrate the 7th anniversary, the organizers have given extra sports backpack.
