Kuwait City: In the first half of this year, Kuwait received 209 million dinars through non-oil exports. With this, Kuwait’s non-oil income has grown by 60 percent.
Kuwait’s non-oil revenue was 130.6 million dinars in the first half of last year. This year it has increased to 209.1. An increase of 78.5 million dinars was recorded over the previous year. Increased demand for Kuwaiti products in the GCC countries reflected in non-oil revenues. The value of Kuwait’s exports to GCC countries in the first half of 2021 was 85.2 million dinars, increasing to 143.9 million dinars in the same period this year. Kuwait’s exports to other Arab countries have also increased. In the period from January to May of last year, it increased from 22.2 million dinars to 49.5 million dinars.
At the same time, Commerce Ministry sources also revealed that there has been a huge drop in exports to Europe and America this year. Officials feel that by diversifying exports and signing trade agreements with more countries, non-oil export earnings can further increase.
