The Hamas health ministry announced Sunday that at least 60 people were killed in an Israeli strike on homes in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Initially reported to have caused at least 45 deaths, the toll rose, with the ministry saying the strike destroyed at least three homes. The Israeli military said it was “verifying” the information, and the Health Ministry spokesperson stressed that the number of casualties might increase due to the large number of families present during the bombing.
