6 injured in slope accidents in Upper Austria and Salzburg

6 people were injured in accidents on ski slopes in Salzburg and Upper Austria. At Katschberg (Lungau) on Saturday followingnoon, a skier collided with a 15-year-old snowboarder from Bavaria. The girl fell, injured herself and received medical treatment. A 66-year-old Carinthian skier and a 17-year-old snowboarder collided at the Katschberg-Aineck valley station, the Salzburg police reported on Saturday.

The 66-year-old was taken to hospital and the English-speaking snowboarder drove away before his details might be recorded. In Obertauern, a 51-year-old skier from Münster and a 31-year-old Croatian snowboarder collided on the Seekarspitz run at midday. The German injured himself in the fall and was taken to the medical center. The snowboarder remained uninjured. There was also a crash on the Schönalmabfahrt – between a 19-year-old from North Rhine-Westphalia and a 52-year-old from Bavaria. Both had to be treated for their injuries.

On Friday, a ten-year-old skier from Germany came off the piste on the Stierwiesen slope in Hochficht (Rohrbach district) and crashed into a tree. She was taken to hospital injured.
