The Ogooué mining company (COMILOG), a subsidiary of the French group Eramet, has allocated a budget of 6.7 billion FCFA, or 3.4% of the net profit achieved by the company in 2022, to finance mining projects. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in 2024, the company announced on May 3 following the meeting of the CSR Operational Management Committee which was held on May 3 in Moanda, in the Haut-Ogooué province (south-east).

The projects to be financed by this budget will be carried out mainly in the communes of Moanda, Mounana and Bakoumba, in the province of Haut-Ogooué. “These projects with strong societal impact mainly focus on health, education, infrastructure and agriculture.», indicates the Comilog.

In Moanda, it is planned to finalize the drinking water supply work, build a high school of excellence and carry out various civil engineering works. In Mounana, CSR funds will mainly be devoted to road safety, including the installation of a road control unit and the construction of a center for examining the G license, necessary for drivers of agricultural vehicles such as tractors. , public works equipment and handling equipment. In Bakoumba, planned projects include the establishment of a multimedia center for students and local residents, as well as the creation of agricultural plantations.
