We love a piece of fish as a main course at home and we eat it once or twice a week. At the weekend we sometimes want to unpack, but during the week I prefer to keep it a bit simpler so that we can quickly get to the table. And that inspired me to this new article with 5 of my favorite quick weeknight fish recipes.
Fish recipes for the whole family
I love fish recipes that are often very child-friendly. My boys love the pasta with salmon and green peas and the quick paella with fish. I myself love the casserole with cod, carrot and potato because it’s bursting with flavor and the oven does all the work.
Well, actually, all of these fish recipes are delicious! Otherwise I wouldn’t share them ;-). And if you want more inspiration, be sure to take a look at these pages.
Casserole with cod, carrot and potato
I start the overview of quick fish recipes right away with my favorite: the casserole with cod, carrot and potato. The dish is in the oven in no time and it then does the work. The lemon and fresh herbs give the dish a lot of flavor.
Pasta with warm smoked salmon and green peas
On to my children’s favourite: the pasta with salmon, green peas and more vegetables such as zucchini, carrot and cherry tomatoes. By cooking smartly you can be done with this in 20 minutes.
Fish stew with potatoes and cauliflower
Unlike, for example, a beef stew, you can quickly conjure up a fish stew on the table during the week. Because fish doesn’t take that long to cook. Any firm white fish is suitable for this, also check the season carefully. Examples are cod (or skrei), halibut, swordfish, turbot and redfish.
That’s where we ran
A paella in 30 minutes? Yes, with this recipe you will succeed. I added shrimp and octopus, but mussels or white fish are also great.
Salmon with spinach, samphire and saffron sauce
The last of my quick fish recipes once more and that is this salmon baked on the skin and then served with spinach, samphire and saffron sauce. Keep a close eye on your salmon when you bake it and don’t let it overcook. Fresh salmon may still be a nice light pink and slightly translucent inside following baking.
