The interest group fights for the caring relatives of people in need of care with long/post-Covid illness
Vienna (OTS) – The pandemic, with all its consequences since 2020, has also brought long-term consequences and illnesses requiring care for many people who were affected by a Covid-19 infection.
“The sequelae of Long/Post-Covid include around 100 different symptoms in varying degrees. Anyone affected by this is dependent on the care and support of relatives and relatives under the most unfavorable circumstances,” explains Birgit Meinhard-Schiebel, President of the Interest Group for Caring Relatives, on the occasion of the 5th National Day of Action for Caring Relatives on September 13th.
In order to support them in their care and support, it is necessary that long/post-Covid sufferers have a care allowance level that ensures access to support offers for the caring relatives and relatives.
It is not yet sufficiently clear that the care allowance assessment and thus the assessment of a level of care will deal comprehensively and competently with this new illness and the resulting care costs.
That is why the interest group of caring relatives is committed to ensuring that the care allowance assessment system assesses this disease – which is often long-standing and requires care – and thus determines a level of care.
