Pope Francis met with the members of CHARIS, the service center of the Charismatic Renewal Community of the Catholic Church, on the fifth anniversary of its foundation on Saturday, November 4, at the Vatican.

The Pope wished that Charismatic communities would be able to continue to bring the flow of grace to the Church by traveling together in the community. The Pope praised the CHARIS community for being able to go to many places in the world and know the richness of the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in different cultural, social and church groups. The Pope thanked for sharing the diversity of experiences and knowledge.

The Pope also recalled the invaluable steps taken by the charismatic movement to create an environment in which people feel love and closeness to the living Jesus, his Word, his Spirit, and his Church. The Pope also underlined the need to make the Pentecostal experience possible by holding seminars and others that include healthy thoughts on life at the parish and community level. The Pope also highlighted the role of the charismatic community in promoting the spiritual depth and holiness of people who live in the experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Finally, the Pope highlighted the need to include young people in the charismatic community. The Pope remembered all those suffering from the horrors of war and prayed for them. He invited everyone to fight for peace.
