Washington – Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India has introduced indigenously developed 5G service and is ready to share it with other countries. The Union Minister was interacting with students at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
“5G service will be available to public in India soon. 5G that we introduced is different. 5G has been prepared using completely indigenous technology. Not imported from anywhere but our own product. 5G is India’s achievement and we are proud of it,” said Nirmala Sitharaman in reply to the question.
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the country’s 5G services at the Indian Mobile Congress in Delhi. Airtel has made 5G available in select locations in the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Varanasi and Siliguri. Reliance Jio announced that it will make 5G available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by Diwali. In the first phase, there is no Kerala.
