5G Coverage and More Data: What’s New for Belgians in May 2024

2024-04-27 20:26:59

More data, a new subscription formula and above all always better 5G coverage for Belgians, this is what this month of May 2024 promises.

More mobile data for Proximus customers

Proximus will offer its customers more mobile data from 1 May. There are no changes to the Mobile Essential, Mobile Unlimited and Mobile Easy subscriptions. However, Mobile Maxi subscribers get 20GB more data, free (the formula goes from 50 to 70GB). Business level Mobile Business Smart goes from 20 GB to 40 GB.

New subscriptions with Proximus

The operator is also introducing two new subscription plans with the B2B side, Business Mobile Confort with 85 GB for 33 euros per month excluding VAT, and the general Mobile Smart side, which includes unlimited calls and SMS as well as 35 GB of data for 24.99 €/month .

More data also on Base

During the month of April, Base also reviewed all its subscription plans by significantly increasing mobile data, without changing the price.

The offer develops as follows:

  • For the €15 subscription, mobile data goes from 6 to 8 GB, or 2 GB more
  • For the €20 subscription, mobile data increases from 15 to 25 GB, or 10 GB more
  • For the €29 plan, mobile data increases from 40 to 50 GB, or 10 GB more
  • For the €39 plan, mobile data goes from 100 to 120 GB, or 20 GB more

New for everyone: sending “selfie” GIFs

If you have an Android smartphone, a new update to the Messages application, which manages SMS, now lets you send personalized GIFs in conversations. With this feature, you take a selfie and the app instantly converts it into a GIF.

The function is already being tested with some users and should be available to everyone during May.

An operator changes its name

Acquired by KPN in the Netherlands, the operator Youfone changes its name to Yoin. For customers, nothing changes except marketing. The change of ownership may, however, lead to changes in the price list within a few months.

Faster internet at Scarlet

Proximus subsidiary Scarlet offers a new payment option at €10 per month, available to Trio and Loco subscribers: the option to go from 70 Mbps to 200 Mbps for download and from 10 to 20 Mbps for upload, with fiber.
