The Miaoli County Government first built a wildlife-friendly channel in the lower reaches of Laozhuang River in January 1999. On March 16 this year, the 436th day following the completion, it was monitored that Shihu crossed both sides of the river bank from above the channel; August On the 24th and the 597th day following the completion, a pair of Shihu mother and son were recorded to pass through the channel, and in the following days, the channel was used continuously and frequently to go back and forth between the two sides of the river bank.
