O Recurring Scheduled Pix will become mandatory for all banks and financial institutions in Brazil. The new resolution of the Banco Central transforms the resource, which was previously optional, into something mandatory. This means that all customers will be able to schedule automatic payments using Pix for recurring commitments, such as rent, for example. The rule applies to all banks and fintechs.

How to use Recurrent Scheduled Pix?

With this new feature, the user will be able to choose a fixed date for payment, and the amount will be transferred automatically every month, without having to carry out the process manually. This makes it much easier for those who want to organize themselves financially, ensuring that important payments are made on time.

To start using Recurring Pixthe customer just needs to enter the Pix key or the recipient’s account information in the bank’s application, define the amount and choose the payment frequency. This way, payments are repeated without the person having to worry about remaking the transfer each month.

It is worth remembering that the Recurring Scheduled Pix is different from another function, called Automatic Pixwhich is yet to be launched and is scheduled for 2025. Automatic Pix will be aimed at paying company bills, such as water, electricity and service subscriptions, and not for transfers between individuals.

Another important point: to increase security, the Central Bank will limit the amounts in transfers made using new devices. Initially, it will be possible to transfer up to R$ 200 by a new device; for larger amounts, you will need to register the device with the bank. Furthermore, if the person does not register the device, they can make transfers of up to R$ 1.000 per day.
