57 citizens of Bangladesh were punished for protesting in the United Arab Emirates

United Arab Emirates In Bangladesh, 57 citizens were charged with ‘inciting riots’ on the streets last Friday Imprisonment has been told.

Abu Dhabi’s Federal Court of Appeal also sentenced three people to life imprisonment for calling for protests to pressure the Bangladesh government, according to the UAE’s official news agency WAM (WAM).

Of the 57, 53 were sentenced to 10 years in prison, while one, who entered the country illegally and took part in the riots, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

According to the WAM news agency, these citizens of Bangladesh will be deported after completing their sentences.

On Friday, UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi ordered an investigation into the arrest of several Bangladeshi nationals who were demonstrating in the UAE in support of those protesting the controversial quota system in their home country.

The investigation conducted by the 30-member team confirmed the involvement of these individuals in gathering in public places, inciting riots, disrupting public security and promoting gatherings and protests, the report said.

Protesters recorded audio-visual footage of their actions and shared them online.

A witness during the trial said the protesters did not even heed police warnings to disperse.

The witness confirmed that these men organized a mass march on several streets of the UAE in protest against the decisions of the Bangladesh government. Many of the accused also confessed to their crimes.
