“515 million euros allocated for canteens” –

The government wants to invest in schools and in the spaces where students spend their hours in the case of full-time. This is why the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, on the sidelines of Mission Italy 2024 announced the allocation of 515 million euros for canteens. “I announce this important measure that I signed today, a particularly significant decree that allocates 515 million euros, more than double what has been authorized so far. “These resources are partly ours, partly derived from surpluses and therefore that we have recovered and are intended for school canteens, because we believe a lot in the extension of school time, we believe a lot in the extension of full-time, as we have done with Agenda Sud and Agenda Nord”, he declared.

Valditara launches crackdown on cell phones at school: how long will they be banned?

“We believe that especially in the regions of Southern Italy there should be a significant investment in school canteens, which are the tool to allow young people to stay in school in the followingnoon. It is a truly significant amount. I believe it is a measure of great civility, also because this serves, among other things, to ensure that schools are increasingly places where there is real growth and inclusion”, continued Valditara. “I believe very much in the path of inclusion, in the fight once morest territorial gaps, in the need to reunify our country, both between north and south, and between center and periphery.
This decree that I signed today also goes in this direction”, he added.
