50,000 won to see the snowy view of Mt. Halla? Free tour ticket with ‘premium’

[앵커]

As big snow falls on Jeju one following another, the snowscape of Mt. Halla is at its peak. As tourists flock together, the ransom for free tour reservations, which you can get if you make a reservation, is also skyrocketing. On a used trading site, there was also an article saying that I would buy it for 1 million won.

Snow falls on Mt. Halla, Jeju.

All major entrances to Hallasan were also controlled today (11th), when a snow warning of 30 cm or more was issued.

Even those who had decided to climb to the summit of Baengnokdam have no choice but to turn away.

The reservation tickets for the tour that I had reserved in advance in Seoul became a piece of paper.

As people flock to Mt. Halla, absurd things happen online.

It is an online second-hand trading site in Korea.

People are lined up to buy tickets for the free tour of Mt. Halla.

Most of the prices are between 10,000 won and 50,000 won, but there are also articles saying they will buy it for 1 million won.

There are a total of 5 climbing courses to climb Hallasan Mountain.

Of these, two courses, Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa, leading up to the summit of 1947m, have been operated by reservation system since February 2020.

This is to ensure the safety of climbers on the course and to protect the ecosystem.

In fact, more than half of the 650,000 visitors to Hallasan last year used the two courses.

Currently, the Seongpanak Course is limited to 1,000 people per day and the Gwaneumsa Course is limited to 500 people per day.

Jeju Island requested a ban on sale of the reservation ticket for the free tour of Mt. Halla, stating that it is an ‘item that cannot be resold by law’.
