A Motorola is a very strong company in Brazil, especially for having basic and intermediate cell phones at a more accessible price, or even very high-end models, such as the Edge line, for those who are more demanding However, like any other brand, there are some models that may no longer be worth the investment in 2023, either because it has been discontinued, processing is poor or the price is too high.
Notice
The purpose of this text is not to say that the cell phones listed here are bad. In fact, some of them are very good in many ways. However, for one reason or another, they are devices that not worth investing in 2023either because its processing is too weak for today, its price is exaggerated or it has lost support from the manufacturer.
Moto G100: already discontinued and still expensive
Motorola launched the Moto G100 in 2021, a pioneering model in technology Ready For, which allowed mirroring and transforming the cell phone into a kind of computer connected to a monitor. With its massive configuration that includes the processor Snapdragon 870, 12 GB of RAM memory e 6.7 inch screenthe device has always been an excellent purchase option, until August of last year, when it simply disappeared from the market.
At the time, we brought here firsthand that the Moto G100 is no longer officially sold by Motorola. The company itself confirmed to us that the device reached the end of the cycle and therefore disappeared from the catalogue. For now, you can only find it in retail stores, but we can’t confirm that all models have a 12-month warranty. Speaking of which, its current price is BRL 3,500, which makes no sense, since you can buy the Moto Edge 30 or Edge 30 Fusion, which is better, more modern and sometimes even cheaper.
Moto G53: performance below expectations
The Moto G53 may even be beautiful and have an attractive price, but in our analysis, even if it cost only R$ 800 it would not be worth it. Being quite honest, there is no indication of purchase of the Moto G53. Its biggest plus point is the battery, as it survived our tests for more than 15 hours on standby and 7h45 in everyday tasks and still hadn’t used up all its energy.
Even so, the great battery doesn’t make up for the high price compared to poor performance and very limited cameras. In our analysis, it disappointed in all benchmark tests and even with graphics at LOW, the Moto G53 suffered to get a RODA stamp in games that normally all cell phones take by letter. In this way, if you think regarding having fun with heavier games, run away from the Moto G53.
Moto G60s: it doesn’t make any sense
The existence of the Moto G60s doesn’t make any sense and I’ll explain why. In April 2021, Motorola launched the Moto G60, a device that quickly won over the public with its wonderful 6,000 mAh battery, powerful 108 MP camera and Snapdragon 732G processor. Four months later, Motorola wanted to launch a new version of this successful device, called Moto G60s and nobody understood anything.
The Moto G60s loses out from the “original” G60 in camerasem battery and even in designand even then it is more expensive. In tests, it ties in performance, even with a different processor, and only beats the G60 in load time, which is faster thanks to the technology of 60 watts. Today, neither is sold by Motorola anymore, but at retail, the G60s remains $300 more expensive than his “original” brother, which is not understandable. Currently, I don’t recommend buying any of them, but if you really want a G60, prefer the model without the “S”.
Moto E13: basic, but even too much
We know that not everyone can afford a more complete cell phone, with a good camera setup, a processor that runs anything and that has additional features that make every penny worth it. Some can even afford it, but prefer simpler models, just for making calls and sending WhatsApp messages. For this reason, large manufacturers often launch more basic models, as is the case with Motorola’s Moto E line. However, the Moto E13 cannot be indicated in full 2023.
Launched this year, the device currently costs R$ 750 and offers much less than what is acceptable for today. Are just 2 GB of RAM memory, 64 GB of storage and processor Unisoc T606, which is quite limited. At first, it might work fine, but it doesn’t take long for the memory full messages to start popping up, even if you have as few apps as possible. I can’t recommend buying this little guy at all.
Moto E7 Power: too weak for today
If the brand new Moto E13 is not worth R$750, what regarding a model that was launched two years ago, has much more limited hardware and still costs more? This is the case of the Moto E7 Power, which comes with Android 10processor MediaTek Helio G25, 2 GB of RAM memory and only 32GB of storage which certainly already comes from the factory asking for arrego.
Even with this very limited hardware, its current price has been close to a thousand reais, which also makes no sense. For that price, you can find other basic models that are more worthwhile, such as the Moto G22, from Motorola itself. If you intend to buy a more basic cell phone or know someone with that desire in mind, already warn them regarding these models of the Moto E line, both the older and the newer ones, because they are not worth it!
So, do you agree with this list? Missing a model? Leave your comment!
