The Condemned (2007), Scott Wiper
The film tells the story of an illegal and deadly reality show that is broadcast on the internet. In this show, ten convicted criminals from different parts of the world are taken to a remote island, where they are released and forced to fight to the death while being filmed by cameras scattered across the island. One of the convicts is Jack Conrad (played by Stone Cold Steve Austin), a former special forces soldier who was arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. He becomes the film’s protagonist, fighting for survival and trying to expose the truth behind the reality show.
Meanwhile, the show’s producer (played by Vinnie Jones) and her team watch and bet on the results of the fights. Tension builds as the convicts fight each other, with some alliances being formed and others being broken. With a lot of action, suspense and violence, “The Condemned” is an electrifying film that shows how far people will go to survive in a desperate situation.
Tonight, You Sleep With Me (2023), Robert Wichrowski
Nina (played by Roma Gasiorowska) has a seemingly perfect life: a steady job, adorable daughters and a loving husband. However, as time goes by, her marriage begins to go into crisis and she finds herself questioning whether the responsibility of taking care of the family means giving up her own dreams. An unexpected encounter with a young and attractive intern named Jan (played by Maciej Musial) shakes her world and makes her question the life she has led up until now. Jan is an old boyfriend from her youth and, in their secret meetings, awakens in Nina intense and conflicting feelings of passion and responsibility.
Nina has to choose between following her heart and falling in love with Jan, or maintaining her current life, which, although it seems comfortable and safe, does not completely satisfy her. However, making this choice is not so simple, and she is plagued by internal conflicts and moral dilemmas. You Sleep With Me Tonight is an adaptation of Anna Szczypczyńska’s novel that explores the complexities of balancing responsibility for family and the pursuit of personal happiness. The story makes us reflect on what really matters in life and whether it is possible to find a balance between our responsibilities and our dreams.
Ghost and the CIA (2023), Christopher Landon
Kevin encounters a ghost named Ernest in his new house and it goes viral on social media. But when they decide to investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past, the two end up becoming targets of the CIA. “Ghost and CIA” brings the story of a family that moves into a house where a ghost named Ernest lives, played by David Harbor who also made the series “Stranger Things”. He doesn’t remember how he died, that’s when the family decides to help solve this mystery.
Bad Boys Forever (2020), Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah
Cops Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) are back for another explosive mission in Bad Boys For Life. After a series of violent murders plagues Miami, Mike and Marcus team up with an elite police team to stop the leader of a vengeful drug cartel, Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio).
With the help of allies new and old, including tech savvy Rita (Paola Núñez) and Mike’s ex-girlfriend Isabel (Kate del Castillo), the Bad Boys face their biggest challenge yet. But when Mike’s life is threatened, Marcus is forced to confront his own fears and decide if he’s willing to risk everything to save his partner.
Tears in the Sun (2003), Antoine Fuqua
“Tears in the Sun” is a 2003 action/drama film directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Bruce Willis, Monica Bellucci and Cole Hauser. The story takes place in a fictional African country, where a civil war is raging and the situation is chaotic. A group of mercenary soldiers led by Bruce Willis are hired to rescue an American doctor played by Monica Bellucci, who works in a remote village and is surrounded by rebels. During the mission, they encounter many obstacles and dangers, including rebel attacks, land mines and other challenges that test her courage and skills. Along the way, they also encounter civilians displaced by the war who are in need of help and protection.
As they advance in their mission, soldiers begin to question their motivations and values, and confront ethical and moral dilemmas. They realize that the situation in that country is much more complicated than they initially thought, and that the civil war deeply affects the lives of many innocent people. In the end, they face a final showdown with the rebels and must make tough decisions about who to protect and how to accomplish their mission.
