About 5 people died and 16 others were injured by a shooting this Monday in a parade for the Independence Day of the United States in the town of Highland Park, Illinois, the city’s Mayor’s Office reported in a statement.

Security forces were looking for the suspect in the shooting, according to the mayor’s office, which asked neighbors to seek refuge because there was still danger.

Highland Park is a residential area approximately 40 kilometers from Chicago where regarding 30,000 people live, according to the 2020 census.
