The iPhone’s volume control is somewhat disorganized. The sound settings lack a clear distinction between system volume, call volume, and alarm volume, and configuring each one separately is not intuitive at all.
To adjust the alarm volume on an iPhone, you have to do it one alarm at a time, and the iPhone cannot remember the last volume setting for AirPods. It would be helpful to have a dedicated section in settings to configure the volume for all categories: notifications, calls, alarms, music, etc. This would simplify the process significantly.
Split Screen
This feature has been available on the iPad for years and, although it may not be one of the most utilized functions on the iPhone, it could be quite useful in various situations, especially now that we have larger iPhones.
Using two apps simultaneously on the iPhone screen could be beneficial, enabling users to quickly drag content between them or check a social network while watching live content, among other possibilities. The iPhone is capable of this functionality, yet Apple has yet to recognize the value in adding it.
Landscape View on Home Screen
This is one of the features I miss most from older iPhones, and I honestly don’t understand why Apple removed it. Previously, the home screen on the 5.5-inch iPhone Plus could be rotated horizontally, allowing users to utilize the device this way. However, this is no longer an option.
Why did you remove this feature from the iPhone, Apple?
Similar to what happens on the iPad, many users often use their iPhone horizontally, whether when gaming or consuming content, so a horizontal home screen would enhance navigation for users.
Sort Photos and Videos by Size
With the complete redesign of the Photos app in iOS 18, Apple overlooked a handy feature: the ability to sort an album or the entire gallery by size. This would allow users to quickly identify which videos or photos occupy the most space.
The Ability to Clear App Cache Without Deleting Them
You can clear the cache on your iPhone, but iOS does not permit you to delete app caches directly. This leads to many apps accumulating excessive data and occupying significant space. Currently, the only alternative is to remove and then reinstall them, which is quite inconvenient for users.
These are five features that would be relatively easy to implement and which I have long desired on the iPhone. They are indeed small modifications, but they would significantly enhance the user experience on an iPhone.
